Patrick Kearney, Democratic nominee for State Representative in the 4th Plymouth District, and Sean Costello, who also sought the Democratic nomination, held a “Unity Coffee” on Wednesday, September 14 th at 7:00 AM.
“I am proud to endorse Patrick Kearney as the next State Representative for Marshfield and Scituate and I look forward to working with him to improve the community we both love,” said Costello. “He and I are both part of a new generation of leadership for our communities and for Massachusetts. I’m looking forward to campaigning with him throughout the fall and making sure he is our next State Representative.”
“As a candidate Sean was always gracious. I appreciate the positive campaign he ran and I am grateful for his support,” said Kearney. “We both joined this race for the same reason – to give back to the communities that have given so much to us. I look forward to campaigning with Sean and working with him to improve Scituate and Marshfield as our next State Representative.”
“It’s refreshing to see two young people devoted to public service and we appreciate Patrick’s invitation to collaborate and work together to craft solutions for Marshfield and Scituate,” said Arnie Briggs, a former Marshfield school committee member and Costello supporter.
“I have reached out or spoken with the previous District State Representatives, municipal officials from Marshfield and Scituate, labor leaders and both towns’ Democratic Town Committee members and will continue to. These were all productive, informative conversations and I appreciate their insights and hope they will join us as we move forward,” said Kearney.
Supporters of both candidates attended the event, held at Success Real Estate in Marshfield. The event was hosted by local insurance executive Andy Wening along with other local political figures. Wening commented, “We look forward to providing input to Patrick. He has come to our doors and we know that his will always be open.”
Also attending were: Steve Darcy, a former Cantwell campaign manager and Kearney supporter who is currently spearheading the effort to build a Marshfield Dog Park; Galen Shrand, a young community leader who supported Costello’s campaign, as well as members of the Scituate and Marshfield Democratic Town Committees.
